The Maratona d'les Dolomites or Marathon of the Dolomites is one of the world's most famous and hardest "Cylo-Sportif" events, where 8,500 professional and amateur cyclists battle over the 175km route that passes over eight alpine cols or passes. The great success of the Maratona is certainly based on the splendid setting of the Dolomites and the striking route that follows legendary climbs where great champions have written a rich and glorious page in the history of cycling. Classic and fearsome cols such as the Campolongo, Pordoi, Sella, Gardena and Giau successively sap the strength and will of the participants. Truly an epic event.
