Free improvised music, as its name suggests, is a music created with no pre-arranged structures or other compositional devices and as such has a unique relationship to the time and place of its creation. Founded in the 1980's 'MOPOMOSO' is London's longest running concert series dedicated solely to the promotion of this music. The immediacy and unpredictability of genuinely live music was one of the things that drew Jack to this project. These photographs were taken at The Red Rose Theatre, London at two concerts in early 2007. On the door was electronic musician and DJ, Ashley Wales. Playing at the first gig were the trio of Chefa Alonso and a duo of John Russell and Roger Turner. The second gig featured 'ASK', the Grew Trio with Dominic Lash, as well as a solo performance by John Russell.
